how to be happy if you're a thought daughter.

usually the older sibling, drowning in her sorrows and overthinking everything. how do we balance the horrific and exceptional gift of being born this way?
we don't, usually.
but from one thought daughter to another, embrace it.
create poetry, read what makes you feel, write something utterly heart-wrenching just because you can, observe the ones in love, the ones who have a glide in their step, listen to music that makes life feel like something on the bus home as you open the notes app to write about how life is so crazy and don't be afraid to be this way.
make time for making yourself happy - whilst this may not be going 'out out' or doing anything reckless, it may be a simple lonely walk in nature to appreciate how fortunate you are to hear the birds sing and to be free to walk on this road. maybe it's staying in to compose the most beautiful piece of literature you've ever made. maybe it's dancing in the kitchen as you think about how you ended up here.
essentially, embrace it. if you feel this way, articulate it through art and music and writing and dancing and feel it fully. this is how to be happy. don't let thoughts consume you into nothingness and create something beautiful out of it.
don't get stuck.
you've got this. send me you're work !! (info@lolamaepoetry.com)
